Biography

Polina Kulykova is a Ukrainian opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and vocal teacher for classical singing and pop singing.
Born in Khartsyz'k (Donetsk Oblast), she received piano and singing lessons already as a child. She studied at the Dnipro Conservatory and the M. Glinka Music Academy, and later in Switzerland at the Bern University of the Arts (Master of Specialized Music Performance, Opera) and at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – School of Music (Master in Music Pedagogy, Vocal Pedagogy).
As part of her master’s program, she completed the modules “Early Instrumental Instruction in Motion” as well as “Didactics/Methodology of Music and Movement.”

As a soloist, she has sung in theaters such as the Lucerne Theater, TOBS Theater (Opera Biel/Solothurn), the Neues Theater Dornach, and the Theater Mainz.

  • 3rd Prize at the Elvirissima Competition (2023, Switzerland)
  • Audience Prize at the Oper Oder-Spree Festival (2021, Germany)

Teaching Activity

  • Since 2019 teaching private students of all ages
  • Collaboration with the Matchspace platform as a vocal teacher (classical and pop) as well as music theory
  • Teaching internships at schools and choirs (Primary School Beromünster, Children’s Choir Kriens, among others)

Teaching Approach
Polina combines academic technique, stage experience, and modern teaching methods. She inspires her students to develop their individuality and to discover the joy of their own voice.
