Biography
Mariia Pliskina was born in 1997 in Saint Petersburg. She received her training at the music school and music college under the guidance of lecturer and candidate of arts Ljudmila Gurevich. During her studies, she performed with the Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by the rector of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Honored Artist Alexey Vasiliev.
Since 2018, she has been studying at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in the class of Ilya Gringolts and is a scholarship holder of the Lyra Foundation.
Competitions and Awards
Mariia is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions in Finland, Russia, Sweden, Belarus, Latvia, and others. A special achievement was the Grand Prix at the Rising Stars competition in Riga (2022), where she performed Ysaÿe’s Solo Sonata at the Great Guild Hall. Already in 2019, she had played there on a Guarneri violin.
